Pretty lace panels and a back pleat make for a classic and feminine cardigan.
Finished Sizes
32¼ (34½, 36½, 38¾, 40¾, 43, 45¼, 47¼, 49½, 51½)“ bust circumference (this number has been extrapolated from the back measurement at the bust line, this is an open front cardigan.) Pullover shown measures 32¼”, modeled with 0-1” ease.
Yarn
Hearthside Fibers Champagne Lace (80% merino, 20% silk; 1150 yd /113 g): Wingtips 3 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4,) (4, 4, 4, 4) skeins. Appx 2790 (2985, 3160, 3350, 3525, 3720,) (3915, 4090, 4285, 4455) yds—exact yardage will vary! Note: Yarn is held double throughout!!
Needles
Size 7 (4.5 mm) 29” circular (cir) and set of double pointed (dpns) and size 5 (3.75 mm) 29” cir and dpns. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions
Markers (m); stitch holders/waste yarn; tapestry needle.
Gauge
22½ sts and 30 rows = 4” in Stockinette Stitch and Lace Pattern on larger needles

Notes
This cardigan is worked flat from the bottom up as follows: The body is cast on and worked back and forth up to the armholes where the back/fronts are worked separately. The back is cast off to form the pleat and immediately picked up again. Short rows are used to shape shoulders which are then joined with a 3 needle bind off. Collar is continued and seamed at back neck. Sleeves are picked up from armholes, shaped with short rows and worked down in the round.
