WATTLE Scarf / Cowl
The “Wattle” Scarf/ Cowl Pattern for Men, Women and Teens. This lovely Scarf/Cowl is called “Wattle” which is the word for a fence or wall made of stakes/poles of wood interlaced with twigs or branches. The textured stitch gives this same “woven” appearance to the scarf.
The SCARF is long and flowing, with a wonderful patterned surface. It looks great in any solid or variegated colour. It suits men, women and teens, and makes a great gift for all ages. The COWL pattern makes a great neckwarmer/ short scarf which fits snugly inside a coat or jacket, and keeps you warm and cosy without the bulk of a long scarf. It can be knit flat with the seam sewn up at the end , making a loose, comfortable one piece neckwarmer. You can also knit it in the round, on circular needles. The instructions are given for both methods.
Yarn : Aran/ worsted/ medium weight yarn- weight 4
Cowl : 50 - 75 g/ 1.8 – 2.7 oz. of yarn
Long Scarf : 200g/ 7 oz. of yarn
This makes a great easy, beginners scarf pattern. The textured stitch looks complex but is in fact, very simple. It will be a lovely quick knit cowl for last-minute gifts, or make a long, flowing, luxurious scarf in a beautiful yarn that you will cherish for years to come.
