Sleeveless version: 3, (3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 4) (5, 5, 5, 6, 6) skeins, or 870, (965, 1060, 1150, 1250, 1350, 1445) (1540, 1640, 1735, 1830, 1930) m / 951, (1055, 1160, 1258, 1367, 1476, 1580) (1684, 1794, 1897, 2001, 2111) yds.

Full length sleeves: 3, (4, 4, 5, 5, 5, 6) (6, 6, 6, 7, 7) skeins, or 1095, (1215, 1340, 1460, 1580, 1705, 1825) (1945, 2070, 2190, 2310, 2435) m / 1198, (1329, 1465, 1597, 1728, 1865, 1996) (2127, 2264, 2395, 2526, 2663) yds.

Yarn choice: You can use any sock yarn providing you can obtain the correct gauge. Choose a yarn that will help the twisted stitches stand out. The pattern is best suited to solid coloured yarn and light to mid tones work best.

Needles:
Main needle: 3.5 mm (US 4) needles or size required to obtain gauge, 32 inch/ 80 cm or longer (depending on size made) circular needle for body and magic looping sleeves.
Smaller needle: 3.25 mm (US 3) needles for ribbing or 0.25 - 0.5 mm smaller than your main needle.
DPN’s or 16 inch /40 cm circular needles for neck, 32 inch /80 cm or longer (depending on size made) for waistband and magic looping the cuffs.

Notions:
Beginning of round stitch marker and 17, (19, 21, 23, 25, 27, 29) (31, 33, 35, 37, 39) stitch markers, two removable stitch markers of different colours, scrap yarn, tapestry needle to sew in ends.

GAUGE:
On 3.5 mm (US 4) needles 28 sts and 40 rows / rounds to 4 inches / 10 cm, in pattern, after washing and drying flat. The number of stitches to 4 inches / 10 cm is much more important than the number of rounds. You can use the instructions for the back to knit your gauge swatch flat.
On 3.5 mm (US 4) needles 26 sts and 34 rows / rounds to 4 inches / 10 cm, in stockinette st, after washing and drying flat.
