If you have your own set of mini skeins in a fingering weight then go ahead and use them.
You will need in total approximately 1200 metres of mini skeins and 200 metres of the main colour that brings them all together.
I have used 24 10 gm skeins (50 meters each) and one 100gm skein (360 metres) although I only used half to complete the lacy edge.
