Wavey is a simple shawl, roughly crescent-shaped, and perfect to wrap up in--the sensible shaping makes it wide at the center than at the edges. It can be thought of as a wrap with long ends, or as a scarf with a wider middle; it works well both ways.

Knit Wavey in fingering to sportweight yarn for a generous wrap like the handspun sample in the photos. For results that match the samples, be sure to check your gauge and don’t skip blocking.

The samples are knit from merino/bamboo two-ply handspun yarn and Malabrigo Sock in Solis colorway.

Materials:
Approximately 400 yards of sportweight yarn
One 40”/100cm+ circular knitting needle in US 6/4.0mm, or size needed for gauge
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Stitch marker(s)

Gauge as written: 13sts and 28 rows in 4” of blocked garter stitch, worked flat.
