Wavey Waters Wrap
Pricing update: I have increased my prices to more accurately represent the work that has gone into the making of my patterns. All my patterns have increased in prices, however my newer designs have increased more than my old ones, as I feel I have learned a lot over the years and the quality of my newer designs is higher. The price listed reflects what I believe is fair for the work put into the design, however I understand that the price increases may be inaccessible to some and am offering some tiered discounts for those that need them.
A “Choose What You Pay” model is available for this pattern, allowing both financial accessibility and fair pricing. The buyer may pay what they are able while still valuing the hard work invested to create this design. Use the codes below in order to pay the price listed after each. Choose whichever price works best for you!
- No Code – Full Price = $10.00 CAD
- PK10 – 10% off = $9.00 CAD
- PK20 – 20% off = $8.00 CAD
- PK30 – 30% off = $7.00 CAD
I also offer a Buy 3, Get 1 Free discount! Add any 4 of my patterns to your cart, and use the code BUY3GET1 to get the 4th pattern free! Note: the free pattern will be the lowest priced pattern.
The Wavey Waters Wrap is a lovely rectangular wrap/shawl designed to represent the beautiful colours and textures we find in water! It is a very simple knit, using just the knit stitch and yarn overs/drop stitches! This wrap is intended to be a lightweight, airy wrap that would be perfect for spring or summer evenings!
Size:
Approx. 60” wingspan, 16” depth
My sample was knit to 52” length, however with tester feedback I have increased the length. If you prefer a longer/shorter wrap, you can easily adjust the size of this shawl by adding /removing repeats of the pattern.
Needles recommended:
5 mm / US 8 / UK 6 - can use circulars with a nice long cord (32” or longer is probably best)
may need other size needles to meet gauge
Gauge:
18 sts x 20 rows = 4 x 4 “ (10 x 10 cm), in drop stitch ripple pattern, worked flat, blocked
this gauge is rough, it is hard to get an exact gauge with the stitch pattern! If you are somewhere around this you should be fine, the size may be a little different than mine but that is ok!
Yarn recommended:
Any worsted weight yarn you can meet gauge with. I recommend something that is fairly light and airy, like a chainette type yarn, though any worsted should work just fine for this piece!
I used Hobbii Portobello yarn (131 yds / 50 g):
I used 3 colours for my shawl, however you could make yours solid or use any number of colours you want!
yardage recommendations will be for the 3 colour version but I will also note the total yardage so you can make a solid version or make sure you have enough total yardage between however many colours you choose.
Yardage required:
MC - ~171 g / 448 yds
CC1 - ~56 g / 147 yds
CC2 - ~49 g / 128 yds
Total yardage for solid version - ~276 g / 723 yds
Each stripe of MC uses about 11 g / 28 yds. Each stripe of CC uses about 7 g / 18.5 yds. If you are to add length, you would be adding an extra stripe of CC2 and MC for about 4” extra length. an additional 4” would be a stripe of CC1 and another MC.
