When I lived in Albuquerque, I struggled every morning in the winter to get on the road in the mornings. I would leave my house, loaded down with books, totes, lunch, purse, and all the other things I needed to get through the day. My front door had three keyed locks, then there was the courtyard gate lock, and finally, my truck door to unlock. All these required my to take off my gloves or mittens in order to handle the keys. Invariably, I would drop them, then struggle with picking them up while loaded down. I decided I needed some handwarmers that had half-fingers, so I designed these. They turned out to have an added bonus - they’re great for computer keyboarding in not-as-warm-as-I’d-like winter rooms!

The pattern includes a men’s and women’s version and is made from about 1 skein of sock yarn. It is written for Magic Loop construction, but if you’re an fan of double points, you should be able to convert it easily. The pattern is entirely written out, not charted.
