Wavy Cowl
Wavy Cowl can be cinched up tight for cold days or left uncinched and worn as a loose cowl.
Two yarns are held together to make this cowl, one sport weight baby alpaca and the other a fine mohair/silk yarn, which creates an incredibly soft knit. This cowl is worked in the round with a repetitive eight row pattern that uses a combination of knit and purl stitches to create the waves. Yarn-overs are used to create eyelet holes for an I-cord. I like using an Embellish Knit (a spool knitter that has a crank to make an I-cord in a few minutes) to make the I-cord needed for this pattern. Alternatively, a ribbon could be used to cinch this cowl. When placed on a flat surface, the finished cowl measures 16”-17” x 15” (see photos).
