Wayside Waves was the 2021 Greater Boston Yarn Crawl Pattern! Make it now and wear it as you crawl and pick up some goodies along the way just for wearing your finished shawl to the shops! Inspired by Wayside Waves by Victoria Myers / Island Yarn Company - this adaptation was written by LyynnetteR and CrochetByCiara for Gather Here’s Ravelry Store.

Fall in New England may be just about the most gorgeous thing you can think of! The Greater Boston Yarn Crawl took place on September 30 - October 3, 2021 and was the perfect time to enjoy some amazing fall weather and stock up on delicious yarns from the many wonderful yarn shops that we have in the greater Boston area! You can also find kits or other perfect yarn for Wayside Waves at any of these participating shops!

Wayside Waves can be made with any gauge of yarn and to any size.

SUPPLIES
You will need at least 10 stitch markers.
Wayside Waves Crochet can be made with any gauge of yarn and to any size.
You will need two contrasting colors, color A and color B. Use a light color yarn for
color B to best show off the texture of the stitches.
Use a hook size on the larger end of what you would typically use for the weight of
yarn that you chose.
To create the finished shawl pictured, complete 6 repeats and choose finishing
option 1. We used:
● 3 skeins of dk weight yarn Dos Tierras in the color Teal Feather (210 yards, 100g)
for color A (Additional yardage may be required if you chose finishing option
2.)
● 3 skeins of dk weight yarn Dos Tierras in the color Anniversario (210 yards,
100g) for color B
● Size G (4.00-4.25mm) crochet hook
(The in-pattern figures 1 through 6 are made with Universal Yarn Bamboo Pop.)

GAUGE
20st = 4” Exact gauge is not important for this project.
FINISHED SIZE
Finished size will vary depending on the yarn, hook size and pattern repeats.

SAMPLE FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
The sample shawl is 78”x50”x100” after wet blocking.
It is a half triangle shape, so it is 78” on the straight side and 100” on the slanted side. We like to style this shawl with the longer slanted side (100” in this case) wrapped around the shoulders.
