What this “pattern” will be like/skills needed

This is a combination basic pattern and recipe. You receive instructions to make this shawl shape all in Stockinette Stitch. You make whatever you wish, using that basic form.

You should have a sense of adventure and some strong basic skills, such as knitting top-down triangles, working various increases and decreases, and mostly the ability to make choices based on loosely described steps. It helps to have a knitting friend who may be able to answer questions, and to use free online videos for techniques you want to incorporate.

Yarn Requirements

You will need several colors of fingering weight yarn in coordinating or complementary colors. Plan on two full 400+ yard skeins, plus scraps or miniskeins to add up to 800 to 1000 yards. How you use color and stitch patterns will be completely up to you, within the structure of the shawl shape.

I used Dragonfly Fibers Djinni in several colors, with Winter Woods and Spooky as my main colors.

Gauge Suggestion 20 sts = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette Stitch, or a gauge you like based on the drape you get with your yarn. Gauge is suggested but does not need to be exact.
