This is a stretchy lace vest. It is knit in the round, except for the region of the arm-holes.

It comes in four different bust sizes (32”, 34”, 36” and 40”) with instructions for adapting the lengths of the body and collar.

It is currently available as a kit or a pdf pattern from Morehouse Merino’s website.

It would make a good first sweater. There are some interesting parts, like the change from in the round to flat for the sections of the chest and back at the arm holes, the three needle bind-off at the shoulders, and the cowl neck collar. These are all explained well in the directions. It is a quick knit, so there is quick gratification, and the pattern is very forgiving. Otherwise, it is knit in stockinette, with only a few make ones and picking up of stitches, so there aren’t any really complicated stitch patterns to learn.
