The “Wee baby set” is my latest addition to the collection of designs that I make for babies and children. This time it is the smallest ones that I had in mind. This set of cardigan, romper, bonnet and legwarmers is designed to be as comfortable as cute. The broderie anglaise lace-pattern embellishes the whole set.

Materials
Yarn I used Yaku 4/16 from CaMaRose to work the set. This yarn, of fingering weight, comes in balls of 50 gr/1.76 oz. Yardage: read under each garment below.
Needle size: 3 mm/US2.5

Gauge
26 sts and 36-38 rows in stockinette sts = 10 x 10 cm/ 4 x 4”.

The cardigan
The garment is completely seamless.
The cardigan is a cross-over cardigan, with overlapping fronts, buttoned on each side of the body. It is knit bottom-up in one piece to underarms where work is split for right and left front and upper back. Decreases are worked towards the garter edges. Sts are picked up around the armholes and sleeves are worked top-down and in-the-round.

Yardage: 210/240/300/350 m (230/261/330/385 yards)

The romper
The romper is completely seamless.
You start by working the bottom-pieces of the lower front and lower back. Pieces are joined and main body is worked in the round to underarms. Work is split and front and back continued separately. The shoulder-straps are worked from live sts of the upper back.

Yardage: 175/225/275/350 m (190/245/300/381 yards)

The bonnet
The bonnet is completely seamless. The garter edge and the lace-section is worked back-and-forth, thereafter work is joined in-the-round. The crown is shaped by regular decreases.
Sizes: newborn: 31 cm = 12” / 3mo: 34 cm= 13.5” / 6mo: 37 cm = 14.5” / 9 mo – 1 y: 40cm/15.75”
Yardage: approximately 60/80/100/120 m = 65/87/109/138 yards

The legwarmers
2 sizes to choose from: newborn - 3 months and 3 - 6 months.
The legwarmers are worked in the round.

The pattern
All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches.
All necessary stitch-counts are given.
The lace-pattern is written out row-by-row (not charted).
