This bag is very simple to do, 22 separate squares are stitched together to form the bag and an edging applied and handles sewn on afterwards. The sample was lightly felted afterwards to make it a bit sturdier but this is optional.

The sample was made with 15 colours of Miniballs but it can be done with any number of colours. The squares should measure approximately 10cm prior to felting but there’s a fair amount of flexibility if they aren’t all identical.

There are four styles of square, the pattern can be made with any combination of styles. If you want to keep it simple then you can just make it with 22 striped squares and it will look very effective. The other styles of squares include granny squares, centre-out squares and squares with a simple mosaic technique.

The handles are made with crocheted i-cord but pre-made handles would work very well with this pattern.
