These adorable little fish are quick and easy to make… A great stashbuster for your sock yarn leftovers and the perfect gift for your favorite cat pet. Each fish is made in 1 piece. Pattern includes detailed row by row written instructions.

Skill level: easy.

Techniques used: knit in the round, increase / decrease, kitchener grafting (optional).

Yarn: less than 20 yards of sock yarn (or any other fingering weight yarn) and about 1 yard of contrasting color for 1 fish.

Gauge / size:
With 32 stitches x 44 rows in stockinette fish is approximately 2” (5 cm) long. If you want a larger fish use thicker yarn and needles. Gauge must be tight so the stuffing doesn’t show.

Tools / materials: Size US 1 / 2.25 mm DPNs (due to the small number of stitches I wouldn’t recommend magic loop); small amount of catnip or polyfiber stuffing; tapestry needle; scissors.
