The pattern is written in US Crochet Terms. You will need approximately 300-400m of yarn, which comprises of the main body colour, green for the leaves/spots, pink for the lips, and a small amount of scrap yarn for the eyes and the stem. You will need a 5mm crochet hook (or whatever gets you the appropriate gauge), a tapestry needle, and a small amount of scrap yarn or stuffing.

This hat is worked from the top down, with amigurumi elements sewn into place afterwards.

The starting chain does not count as the first stitch of the row. First stitch goes in the same stitch as starting chain.
The stitch count is provided at the end of each line like so: (9).

Some of the pattern is worked continuously in the round, in a spiral. To avoid losing track of each round, it might be helpful to use a stitch marker to mark the end of the round. You can move this marker each time you finish a round, moving it up as you work. Crochet tightly when working on the details.

There is a child and an adult version for this hat. All elements are the same, except for the body, which has different instructions. Crochet the body that you need, then follow instructions as normal.

The last pages of this pattern include more photos of the process, as well as step-by-step guides, which you can refer to as needed. This is to avoid cluttering the main pattern.
