Weeping Scarlet Shawlette
This shawlette was created with a desire to have an accessory that was versatile; you can wear it as a warm scarf or a cozy shawl. Worked side to side, there is an easy eyelet rib pattern for the main body, with a beautiful border of leaves. There are both written and charted instructions, this is an easy pattern to adapt to any size/yarn you like.
Sizes:
Small shawlette: 11” / 28 cm wide and 75” / 190 cm long
Large shawlette: 14” / 35 cm wide and 85” / 212 cm long
Yarns:
Small shawlette: Furthermore by Henceforth Yarns, 333 yds / 305 m – 2 ply tussah silk, 1 skein – or same amount of a worsted weight silk yarn, shown in colorway Nurture Passion
Large shawlette: Silky Merino by Malabrigo Yarns, 150 yds / 137 m – 51% silk/49% merino wool per 50g/1.76 oz, 3 skeins and Kidsilk Haze by Rowan Yarns, 229 yds/209 m per 25g/.88 oz., 2 balls – or approx. 400 yds / 365 m of a dk weight and laceweight yarn, shown in Silky Merino colorway Stonechat and Kidsilk Haze colorway #631
Needles:
US Size 9 / 5.5 mm circular needle (small shawlette), US Size 10 / 6 mm circular needle (large shawlette) 24”/ 60 cm or longer, or size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge:
Small shawlette: 14 (12) sts and 18 (16) rows = 4” / 10 cm in Eyelet Rib patt, before (after) blocking
Large shawlette: 15 (14) sts and 20 (17) rows = 4” / 10 cm in Eyelet Rib patt, before (after) blocking – with yarns held together
