This pattern is from ca. 1893 Weldon’s Practical Needlework, vol. 6, p.9. It has 29 stitches and a 20-row repeat. The 6 set-up rows before the repeat rows create the first tip of the center leaf. The wrong-side rows are all just knit and purl stitches. The swatch is 4 inches wide at gauge.

Skills needed: cast on, slip, knit, purl, YO, SSK, k2tog, k3tog, SK2P and bind off in knit stitch.

Gauge is not important in this pattern. Any block-able yarn/thread will work. Make a swatch to check gauge and appearance.

49 yards of #10 crochet thread will make about 10 inches of a Clematis Stripe in the stated gauge.
