Welsh Leek Amigurumi
A leek amigurumi pattern written in US terms. The finished leek can be used as a plushie or toy food, or you could attach it to bunting or a key ring or magnet. It’s a quick and easy make, suitable for beginners looking to challenge themselves a bit, or more seasoned crocheters to whip up in under half an hour.
The pattern is 3 pages long and includes colour photographs of the finished item, as well as some step-by-step assembly photographs.
Using 5mm hook and DK yarn, the finished leek measures 10cm x 4cm.
For this pattern, you will need:
DK weight yarn in green and white
5mm hook
Tapestry needle
Stitch marker
Scissors
Toy Stuffing
Wobbly eyes/safety eyes. Wobbly eyes will be glued on and will pose a choking hazard
You will need to be familiar with the following US terms:
Ch- chain
SS/Sl St- Slip Stich
Rounds- working in rounds without turning
SC- Single Crochet
FO- Fasten off
Magic Ring
Colour Changes
Increase by doing 2 single crochets in 1 stitch
Decrease/Sc2tog by joining 2 single crochets together into 1 stitch
St- Stitches
RS- Right Side
WS- Wrong Side
