Wenanty is a rectangular wrap that combines lace and brioche to create a shawl of unusual texture which is emphasized even more by wandering lines of knit and purl stitches.

The shawl is reversible and looks equally interesting on both right and wrong sides. 2x2 ribbing border lines up with the main pattern and, as the border is considerably wider than the lace body, drapes perfectly opening like a fan.

Brioche is transformed into a technique of simple knit and purl stitches (with a twist) and is achievable for anyone who has never done brioche before, or who has tried before and thinks it is beyond them.

Wenanty can be done as a light summer shawl or a warm winter wrap or scarf, depending on yarn weight you choose.
My sample was knit in Juniper Moon Farm Findley (100g = 730m/798y) on US 4 / 3.5mm needles and I used up the whole skein to obtain a shawl that measures 39x162cm / 15,5x64 inches blocked.
Wenanty is a yarn consuming pattern as brioche doesn’t open in blocking as much as regular lace. Hence, you need to allow more yarn that you would normally use for a lace shawl.

The size can be adjusted to your preferences, eight widths are available by varying the number of cast on stitches and the length depends on the number of pattern repeats.

Wenanty to szal, który łączy ażur i ścieg angielski (lub patentowy). Dzięki temu zestawieniu powstaje bardzo ciekawa faktura, a szal jest dwustronny.
Wykonany z cieniutkiej włóczki jest lekki i wyjątkowo elegancki, użycie grubszej włóczki sprawia, że idealnie nadaje się na zimowe chłody jako szeroki szal lub szalik.

Wenanty nie jest trudny do wykonania, nie jest to jednak wzór na pierwszy ażurowy szal. Choć wystarczy znajomość podstawowych ściegów ażurowych to jednak pewna wprawa w dzierganiu jest potrzebna, zwłaszcza w przypadku potrzeby prucia.

Sugerowana włóczka - każda, od bardzo cieniutkiej do porządnie grubej i zimowej, wszystko zależy od przeznaczenia udziergu.

Rozmiar zależy od indywidualnych preferencji. Jak w większości moich wzorów, i w przypadku Wenantego podane są możliwości modyfikacji udziergu, tak na szerokość jak i na długość.
