Attention Whovian knitters: This hat is for you!

This Doctor Who-inspired hat is based on my favorite quote from the 11th Doctor: “We’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?” The quote is written in Morse code, worked in purl stitches, on an otherwise plain stockinette hat, to remind you to seek out the wonder in the mundane, and to make every day an adventure. What will your story be?

The pattern can be sized up or down by adjusting needle size or yarn weight, but changing the number of stitches would require recharting the entire message. I strongly recommend knitting a gauge swatch to make sure your finished hat will fit the intended recipient and have a good fabric density. The prototype fits snuggly on my 22” head.

For a stranded colorwork variant, substitute a contrast color for the purled stitches.
