I’ve been in love with this stitch pattern for a while and absolutely had to find a way to make it work for a triangle shawl. I like to make the stitches work for me (and you) so the lace pattern doesn’t really change each time you increase! Basically, I make the stitches my bitches :D
This lace pattern is two rows and 4 stitches total so it’s fairly easy to memorize. I found it one of those patterns that’s semi-mindless but not boring!

I buckled down over a weekend, determined to make this shawl work and magic finally happened!
I had also been sitting on this shawl ball for a while waiting for the exact right pattern and I think this is it. I absolutely LOVE the way the colours emerge and stripe without being too regular.

  • Advanced/Ambitious Beginner (there are some interesting techniques but lots of links to video tutorials if you’d like to learn something new!)

  • As it’s knit bottom up it’s totally adjustable to your desired size or yarn choice.

The Name: So one weekend I was getting ready for work and my husband started signing “Everybody’s working for the weekend…”. He explained to my puzzled face that he thought the song was about people working over the weekend. I said “then it would be called Everybody’s working ON the weekend”! Lol Now it’s an inside joke that everytime one of us works on the weekend we have a to sing that song.

So now that you’re in on the joke, and the song is stuck in your head…. Happy knitting!
