The West Sands Sweater is a comfy and relaxed raglan sweater with a continuous textured-stripe pattern, created using two stranded colourwork. This sweater is worked top-down and in the round.

West Sands beach is located on the outskirts of St Andrews, Scotland. A picturesque landscape, famous for the opening of ‘Chariots of Fire’. This beach truly has a special place in my heart. My aim with this pattern was to recreate this coastal landscape using colourwork and texture.

Difficulty
This pattern has a relatively simple construction, with textured colourwork that looks impressive but is simple to achieve. This pattern would be ideal for a motivated beginner and above. I’d recommend having a basic understanding of stranded colourwork, however this pattern only ever works two colours at a time and has minimal need to pick up floats.
