Western Sky
Western Sky is fun-to-knit beret featuring lace, cables and bobbles. This hat can be knit in DK weight yarn or fingering held with laceweight mohair. Both charted and written instructions are provided.

70% Kid Mohair/30% Silk 459 yards/50 grams
Yardage: approximately 140 yards of DK weight yarn OR 140 each of fingering weight yarn and laceweight mohair held together
Needles:
Note! Needle size is suggested only, you will need to swatch to determine the needle size needed to achieve gauge.
Main Needle: US 5/3.75 mm Ribbing Needle: US 3/3.25 mm

Stitch markers, stitch holders (or scrap yarn), tapestry needle, cable needle
Gauge:
18 sts and 28 rounds over 4” 10 cm with Ribbing Needles in 1x1 ribbing pattern after blocking. This is the critical section to meet gauge, as it the the only part of the hat that fits closely to the head, and incorrect ribbing gauge will affect the fit of your hat. Size up 2 needle sizes for the main body of the hat.
