The skill level for this pattern is beginner as the only stitches used are knits and purls. The whale design is a simple repeat pattern. The border is knit as you go along so there’s no need to pick up stitches.

Knit with chunky weight yarn, this blanket knits up quickly. The pictured project was knit with Cascade Yarns “Cherub Chunky”.

The finished measurements are 26” x 30” (66 cm x 76 cm) which is a lovely size for a stroller, a warm cover, sleeping quilt, play mat, car seat cover or even a picnic blanket.

What customers are saying:
“Very nice pattern! I’m relatively new to knitting and this pattern has been easy for me to follow. Very detailed and helpfully written.”

Two PDF documents to be downloaded: Pattern instructions with pictures and another document with the chart for the whale motif. Written instructions are also provided for the whale motif.

Materials: Chunky Weight Yarn, US 10 (6 mm) 32 inch or longer circular needle, Stitch Markers, Yarn Needle

I hope you enjoy knitting this pattern as much as I enjoyed designing it.
