Whales
These whales are knitted in chunky yarn on straight knitting needles and introduce simple colour working. Suitable for knitters who have mastered the basics and are ready for the next step.
To make a set of whales you will need: 4.5mm straight knitting needles, some chunky yarn, sewing needle, toy stuffing and some 6mm toy safety eyes.
Whales measure 19cm long when completed
Yarns we recommend for this pattern
You can use any chunky weight yarn you like, but we used:
-
A ball of Paintbox Simply Chunky in colour Washed Teal (332) for the blue whale colour.
-
The pink whale uses Scheepjes Chunky Monkey in colour 2013 Punch.
-
A ball of Hayfield Bonus Chunky in colour 961 for the white. (As a guide to quantities, you can make three whales from one ball of the Paintbox Simply Chunky/one ball of Hayfield Bonus Chunky combination)
