Wharf Street
Wharf Street is a seamless crew neck pullover vest featuring a textured box stitch pattern (reminiscent of the famous cobblestoned “Wharf Street” in Portland, Maine). Knit up in the velvety soft Cumulus cotton blend yarn by Juniper Moon Farm, this vest makes for a light layering piece perfect for any season!

Finished Body Circumference:

Picking Your Size:
I suggest picking a size whose finished body circumference is approx 4-9”/10-23 cm larger than your actual bust circumference, depending on your desired fit.
I knit up 2 samples to show the difference in ease amounts and how the amount of ease you pick just depends on how you want to wear it. In the white version I’m wearing it with 4” of positive ease (so a closer fit) and in the orange version I’m wearing it with 8” of positive ease (for a more layered look). Gauge:
16 sts & 26 rnds = 4”/10 cm in box st patt in the rnd on body needle after blocking.
Yarn: Approx 550 (600, 650, 700, 775) (825, 875, 950, 1000, 1075) yds of worsted-weight yarn, shown in Cumulus by Juniper Moon Farm (94% Cotton/6% Nylon; 100g = 251 yds), 3 (3, 3, 3, 4) (4, 4, 4, 4, 5) skeins, shown both in Pearl (white) & Amber (orange).
Needles & Other Supplies:
• For Body: US 8/5 mm 32”/80 cm circ, or size needed to obtain gauge (note: sizes 8+ may want to consider using a 40”/100 cm circ length).
• For Three Needle BO: extra US 8/5 mm circ (or same size used to get gauge), in either 24”/60 cm or 32”/80 cm length,
• For Neck & Armhole Trim: US 7/4.5 mm 16”/40 cm circ, or 1 needle size smaller than that used to get gauge.
• Stitch markers.
• Stitch holders or scrap yarn.
• Tapestry needle.
Construction: Wharf Street is knit seamlessly from the bottom-up. Front and Back are separated at the underarms and worked flat up to the top. Shoulders are then attached using the Three Needle Bind-off technique. Neck and armhole trim are created by picking-up stitches and working in rib stitch.
