What a Catch Sweater is designed to follow the body with little or no ease. It’s a modern classic design that is knit top-down with no seams.

Chest circumference for finished sweater:
app. 80 (90) 98 (105) 114 (127) cm

Sizes are partly achieved through gauge, so swatching in the structure pattern is important.

Gauge for 10 cm x 10 cm:
XS+S: 24 sts x 36 rows on needle 4.0mm using diagram 12
M: 22 sts x 32 rows on needle 4.5mm using diagram 12
L: 24 sts x 36 rows on needle 4.0mm using diagram 14
XL+2XL: 22 sts x 32 rows on needle 4.5mm using diagram 14

Recommended yarn:
Two strand held together of
Knitting for Olive Merino (50g/250m)
Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair (25g/225m)

For a more defined look it is possible to use one strand alone of a slightly heavier yarn with app. 50g/150-200m that matches gauge

Yardage:
Merino: 250 (250) 250 (300) 300 (300) g
Soft Silk Mohair: 150 (150) 150 (175) 175 (175) g

Needles:
Ribbing is knit using 3.5mm needles
Size XS, S and M are knit with 4.0mm needles
Size L, XL and 2XL are knit with 4.5mm needles
(or needle size to achieve gauge)

Techniques:
The pattern uses Italian cast-on and bind-off, and uses German short rows for neck shaping. The yoke is made with invisible increases described in the pattern. Structure is achieved by making 1x1 cables.
