Size US 8 (5.0mm) 32” - 40” / 80cm - 100cm circular needle (or size to obtain gauge)
Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

GAUGE
Not crucial, but will affect the finished size of the shawl as well as required yardage.
4 sts = 1” or 2.5cm in stockinette on US 8 (5.0mm) needles after blocking.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain gauge.

ABBREVIATIONS
k= knit
kfb = knit into front and back of the same stitch

RS = right side
WS = wrong side
M1R = make one right: with left needle, lift bar between sts from back to front, knit into front of stitch
M1L = make one left: with left needle, lift bar between sts from front to back, knit into back of stitch
m = marker
pm = place marker
W&T = wrap and turn: bring yarn to the front, slip one stitch from left hand needle to right, bring yarn to 
the back and slip stitch back to left hand needle. Turn work and bring yarn to the back.
