What's Your Style?
How do you wear a crescent shawl? Do you fling it over one shoulder, wrap it round once with the long ends at the front? Do you like it wrapped double with the ends tucked in for really cold weather? Or maybe you like to wear it across your shoulders?
Whatever your style, you can rock it with this shawl.
The knitting is easy – suitable as a first lace project, but also good for an experienced knitter for when you want an easy project. It is knit in garter stitch, with panels of easy lace that are repeated in the border.
Plus, the right and wrong side are almost indistinguishable from each other, so it’s functionally reversible. Bonus!
Finished dimensions after blocking: approximately 74” (188 cm) long from tip to tip and 9” (23 cm) deep at widest point.
SUPPLIES
Allow 440 yards (400 m) of fingering weight yarn. This includes a 10% safety margin on my usage, as I was playing yarn chicken at the end. Instructions are given for modifying the pattern if you are running short on yarn. Differences in gauge will affect your yarn usage and overall dimensions.
You will need a long US 6 (4.00mm needle) circular needle (or size to meet gauge) plus a needle that is one size larger, for the bind off.
A locking stitch marker to mark the right side of your work.
A sewing up needle.
