SIZE XL (2XL):
These sizes have not been test knitted, which means that the amount of yarn given is an estimate. If you choose to knit one of these sizes, I will be happy if you send me feedback on the exact amount of yarn :) post@secondknit.com
The sweater is worked from top to bottom with two threads together. Stitches are cast on at the neck and worked back and forth in stockinette stitches with increases over the shoulders and towards the two front pieces. Then it is increased for sleeves and sleevegaps while the work is knitted in the round. The bodice ends with a classic rib, and the same for the sleeves. During the work, it is important to have control over the number of rounds that are worked between each stripe. The stripes are knitted with one thread of each contrasting color so that a nice play of colors forms in the stripes. But if you wish, you can of course knit the stripes with two threads of the same color. The sweater in the picture has stripes reminiscent of strawberry ice cream - that’s my flavour!
The sizes are calculated based on a positive ease of approximately 25-30 cm, which you add to your own chest measurement. The pattern follows body measurements of:
80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) cm.
Example: If your bust measures 93 cm, add 20 cm = 113 cm. This is equivalent to size M, which gives you a positive ease of 23 cm.
The model in the picture has a bust measurement of 83 cm (23 cm positive ease according to body measurement) and is wearing a size XS with a length of 50 cm (shorter than pattern measurement). The yarn is Merino from Knitting for Olive in colors Sand, Pomegranate and Flamingo.
