Wheatfield without crows
Van Gogh’s “Wheatfield with crows” has always been one of my favorite paintings, and I was inspired by the color “Winter Wheat” here. I love the variegation – just like a real field of wheat. This cowl is just long enough to wrap around your head and neck for a cold winter day, or you can just let it drape over your shoulders. The “wrong side” is just as interesting as the pattern side, and sometimes I can’t decide which one I want to show! The fabric is slightly dense, but if you’d like a lighter, drapey feel, go up 1 or 2 needle sizes. Keep in mind, though, that if you do this, you will be using more yardage than the pattern calls for, and make sure you have extra on hand :)
