Wheatsheaf Socks
A cuff-down cabled sock designed originally to fit into the Cables category for Sock Knitters Anonymous September 2014 Challenge. Uses a 74 stitch leg and 64 stitch foot. Sizing can be adjusted by using heavier weight yarn and larger diameter needles.
What you will need:
100g of fingering weight/4ply sock yarn. Solid, semi-solid, marled, tweed or gradiant would show off the pattern well. The yarn shown in the photos is Phildar Phil Folk 50, (210m per 50g) in the colourway Coquille.
2.25mm needles (DPN, Circular or Magic Loop) or appropriate size to get a gauge of approx 9 stitches and 12 rows per inch in Stocking stitch.
2.75mm needles for cast-on.
Stitch markers as needed.
Cable needle.
Wool needle for grafting the toes.
You may also like to use a 2-3mm crochet hook for picking up stitches along edges of heel flap.
Please note that the pattern has been test knit only by me.
This pattern is intended for personal, not-for-profit use only.
