I designed this sweater to meet the needs of someone in a wheelchair.

It is my experience that a shawl doesn’t stay in place or it catches in the wheels. A blanket doesn’t warm the upper body and a sweater bunches uncomfortably at the back of the chair. Someone with limited mobility can’t adjust for comfort and warmth.

This design has a shortened back for warmth but not bulk. It has sleeves to hold the fit and allow for movement.

This unisex sweater, is easy to knit, seamless and knit top down with room to adjust front and sleeve lengths. My experience is that full cut sleeves are not as successful for my clients so the pattern has short sleeves that you can adjust.

This garment is worked seamlessly from the top-down using the contiguous sleeve method developed by Susie Myers, SusieM on Ravelry (http://www.ravelry.com/people/SusieM).
