When By the Lake.

I wanted a light and simple textured sweater, inspired by the rings in the calm Lake water, that animals and rain create.

I am currently working on an update of the pattern.

  • 9 sizes: XS to 5 XL.

Suitable for adventures beginner knitters.

When by the lake is worked from the top down in the round. First the neck is worked in rib, then German short rows to shape the neck. Then the yoke is worked with a texture and eyelet pattern. When the yoke is done the sleeves are placed on waste yarn or stitch holders, and the body is worked in the round and ended with a ribbed hem. The sleeves are placed back on needles and worked in the round with decreases and ended with a ribbed cuff.

Techniques:
Knitting in the round.
German short rows.
Yarnovers.
Knitting through back loop.
Increases - Make one left and yarnovers.
Decreases - Knit two stitches together - and slip, slip, knit.
Yoke texture is written out instructions - no charts.
