When Pigs Fly Hat for Chickens
The hat was inspired by my friend from Mullendore Farm & Confectionery. She collects flying pigs. So, I decided to make up a When Pigs Fly Hat for chickens.
There are over 40 pictures to help you with the pattern. There are 3 sizes of hats… Banty, Full-size chicken/Duck and Turkey/Goose
• Material List
• Worsted Weight Yarn. I used Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn color, Pink. And Red Heart Super Saver, color Shocking Pink.
• H Hook (5.0 mm)
• Yarn Needle, to weave in ends,
• Tape measure to measure your gauge swatch
This pattern is Beginner to Easy
This is Written in English/American Terms.
Amount of Yarn used
25-45 yards
• This is a good stash buster project; it takes very little yarn.
Stitches
• Ch= Chain
• Sc= Single Crochet
• Sl st= Slip Stitch
Sizes
Banty/Small Chicken: About 2 inches tall and 5 ¾ inches around, ties are about 3 3/4 inches long.
• Full-size Chicken/ Duck: About 2 ½ inches tall and 6 ¾ inches around, ties are about 4 1/2 inches long.
• Turkey/Goose: About 2 ¾ inches tall and 7 ½ inches around, ties are about 6 inches long
Gauge
7 sc x 8 rows = a tiny touch over 2 inches x 2 inches
