Where did you get that hat?
Pattern calls for small amount of worsted weight novelty yarn (5 sts to inch) but says a bulky yarn that knits 3 sts per inch is also suitable.
6mm needles are only a suggestion for the bulky yarn - use needles called for by the yarn ball band
