WHERE DRAGONS DWELL COAT

2024 is a year of Dragon by Eastern calendar. Dragons are traditionally associated with wisdom, wealth, magic, harmony, strength bigger than humans, with the power of nature. They can bring their friends and family wellbeing and shield them from malicious forces. As such, this coat can become a lucky charm for your own use, or a soulful present for your loved ones.
Double knitting Jacquard is a technique that produces two color designs with no floats on the back. It is a process of knitting a fabric, that has the two sides stocking knit. One side is predominantly main color; the other side is predominantly contrast color.
The chart is easy to transform for knitting a scarf.

NOTE
This woman’s coat is in one size. It fits almost everyone. The coat is knit from the bottom hem to the shoulders; each front and the back are separately. The shoulders are sewn together and the sleeves are knit from the hem down to the armhole.
Instructions are for a 115 cm coat measured from hemline to shoulder. To shorten, make adjustment from hemline. As coat is reversible, there is no right or wrong side.

REQUIREMENTS
It is expected that you know how to knit double knitting and are
familiar with placement of stitches on your needles of choice working from charts.
There are several double knitting methods. You can watch the videos I recommend or use any of the methods that are convenient for you.

ABBREVIATIONS

cdd = k3tog with centered double decreases
k = knit
k2tog = knit 2 together
p = purl
sl1 = slip a stitch
st(s) = stitch (es)
ssk = slip, slip, knit: Slip a stitch knitwise twice.

YARN
Color A – Katia Concept Polynesia Gradient col 304 (660m/200г) - 800g (4 skeins).
Color B – Lana Grossa Mare Linea Pura col 002 (330m/100г) - 800g (8 skeins).
The hardest part of this project was getting the Color B symmetrical for the right and left sides. If you are unsure of your skills, I recommend you to choose Katia Concept Polynesia Gradient in another color (4 skeins) as Color B. In this case, you will get the symmetry of the front/back halves in a natural way.

SIZE One Size (Fit for EU 40 - 48).

NEEDLES 2,5mm (circular 60 cm long). Circular needles are recommended due to the large number of stitches you will have on you needles. Stitch markers. Tapestry needle.

GAUGE Measured on one side of work -22 Double-stitches pairs (22sts Color A for the front and 22sts Color B for the back) and 30 rows = 10 cm х 10 cm.
