Flipping through my stitch calendar I saw this beautiful stitch called Fern Lace for July 28th. This day happens to be the anniversary of my father’s passing in 2011. I thought how nice it would be to design something using this stitch in his memory. Then the pattern name hit me instantly. “Where The Red Fern Grows”. It is a story I read as a child in school when I was 11, have always loved it, I still have the book. Very quickly the idea was all ready to go in my mind. I just had to make it come alive in yarn….. And here it is! Thanks Dad!-
