ABOUT THIS PATTERN
During the summer as I sat outside on my patio, I would watch the hummingbirds play as I knit. This shawl is inspired by these times. This is a ¾ shawl, 3 triangles worked to create a shawl that drapes over your shoulders beautifully. It is worked with 3 colors. This beautiful shawl is worked in garter stitch with a simple, yet classy mosaic section, ending with a 2x2 ribbing.

This has two PDF’s, one has line by line instructions, perfect for a beginner. The second is a condensed version for those more experienced with working mosaic, etc.

I have also included a video tutorial to walk you through this type of cast-on.

YARN REQUIRED
Fingering weight yarn, two skeins of MC and one skein of each, CC1, CC2. CC1 and CC2 should have high contrast for the mosaic section. Sample used darkest of colors as CC2.

MC: 2 skeins of Titanium Sock by Glenheavenknits in the Twitcher colorway
464 yds(425m)/100g, 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon.
837 yds (765 m)/180g used in the sample.
CC1: 1 skein of Titanium Sock by Glenheavenknits in the Marsh colorway
464 yds (425m)/100g, 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon.
260yds (238m)/56g used in the sample.
CC2: 1 skein of of Titanium Sock by Glenheavenknits in the Medusa colorway
256 yds (234m)/55g, 75% Superwash Merino and 25% Nylon.
323 yds/74 grams used in the sample.

NOTIONS
1 Tapestry needle to weave in ends, 8 stitch markers to mark for increases, stitch markers to mark repeats(optional).

NEEDLES
US size 4(3.5 mm) 40” circular or long enough to hold all stitches. If you are a tight knitter, you may also want US size 5(3.75 mm) 40” circular for the mosaic section.

GAUGE
2” = 12sts/ 22 rows blocked garter stitch. Gauge is not important.

FINISHED SIZE
81” (206cm)wingspan length/ 47” (119cm) deep.
