Whimsical Tee
This fun crochet tee pattern can be modified in many ways. You can add length to the overall length, make your V deeper or more shallow, change the length of your sleeves. Make it all yours. The Whimsical Tee is made in DK yarn comes in 9 sizes that have zero ease. You can make a larger size for a looser fit; The sleeves are added separately so you can make the top in any size you want for your desired fit.

SPECIAL STITCHES
FDC- Foundation Double Crochet – Tutorial
Chain 2 (does not count as a st), yarn over (YO) and insert hook in 2nd chain from hook, YO and pull up loop (3 loops on hook), YO and pull through 1 loop creating a chain st, (this is an important step but easy to forget), YO again and pull through first two loops on hook (two loops remaining), YO again and pull through last two loops on hook. This completes the first fdc; to stitch the next fdc, yarn over and insert the hook into the chain made in the first fdc and repeat from to desired length.
CSDC- Chainless Starting Double Crochet - Tutorial
If working in rows, turn work. If working in rounds spin hook completely around, making a twist in the loop. Pull up a loop to the height of a normal dc. YO with the loop so that the hook is behind the loop. Insert the hook into the first st of row. Complete a normal dc (YO and draw through st (3 loops on hook). YO and draw through first two loops on hook. YO and draw through last two loops on hook).
NOTES
- Pattern is written in US crochet terms
- Pattern is written in size X-Small with changes for S, M, L, 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 5x in parenthesis
- Stitch counts are given in <> brackets on rows where the st count changes
- Ch 3 (or optional CSDC) is considered the first dc
- Ch 1 is NOT considered the first sc
- Body and sleeves are made independent of each other and sizes can be mixed and matched for customization. Pattern includes notes on other customizations such as the deepness of the V-neck and sleeve length.
PATTERN CONSTRUCTION
Pattern is made bottom up, in two panels; front and back which are then seamed at the shoulders. The sleeves are made independently and seemed on. Then the sides and the bottom of the sleeves are seamed. I prefer the mattress seam method, but any seaming method can be used. This allows you to make the body portion in any size that you like and add the sleeves that fit your body and fit desired. Samples shown in small (purple) and medium (red) on model with a 36” bust. As written the V is 6” deep from the center of the shoulder. The sleeves on the purple sample are 7” long, the sleeves on the red sample are 5” long.
