Whippersnapper
This pattern was inspired by the Nana sculptures of Niki de Saint Phalle. The freedom, playfulness, and natural beauty of the Nanas sparked a lot of joy in my heart. I knew I had to make a cardigan that embodied those feelings. I hope that Whippersnapper brings out your inner child and that every time you wear it you feel wrapped in a magic cape that reflects the beauty inside your heart.
Whippersnapper is worked in separate pieces. The back and front pieces are worked flat, blocked individually, then sewn together at the shoulders. The shawl collar and button bands are picked up along the front edges and back neck and worked in one long piece. This combined piece is blocked and the side seams are sewn together. Blocked sleeves are sewn into the armhole at the end.
I hope you feel free to play with your colors! This sweater was designed in the spirit of self love so find colors that spark joy in you!
