Whirlwind Shawl
The Whirlwind Shawl was my project to keep me busy during Hurricane Irma’s visit to Florida in September 2017. It is a quick and enjoyable shawl/scarf to crochet.
The photos of the Whirlwind shawls in orange/pink and in greens use RH Boutique Treasure yarn. Very squishy and great colors. 6.5mm/K hook.
The photos of the Whirlwind shawl in browns and gold use Premier Yarn Boreal,100% wool, approx. 4 x 109 yard balls. This is one of my favorite yarns. 6mm/J hook. I added wooden beads to the saw tooth points for emphasis.
The photos in brown, green and gray colors at the marina used about 490 yards of Premier Yarn Boreal 100% wool in colors Beaver and Caribou, as I did 6 more increase rows before I began the decrease edge.
The blue velvet version was made using Bernat Baby Velvet in Wandering Blue I used most of the 492 yard ball. I had about 60 yards left over. I added a simple shell edging -not included in the original pattern, but I can add instructions if you have purchased the pattern and are interested in adding the edging.
