This pattern derived from a project which was meant to be a present for my niece. She liked it so much that I eventually made 3 hats in different colors - two more for her and the third for my friend’s daughter.
It is a fast project - you can make it in two or three days, or even in a day if you are a fast crafter.
I used two strands of DK yarn simply because I like the particular yarn - it is soft and easy to manage, and I had the desired color. However, you can make your own combination of yarns or use another yarn of your choice as long as it fits the desired hook size.
