Whooville
The wonderful movie, Hugo, was full of knitting inspiration. The flower vendor had a sweet hat, with striped and solid sections. This owl motif has been dancing around in my head, and seemed a nice fit with the contrasting colors of the band and top. It is easily knit in just one color.
Shepherds Wool Worsted- 100% Merino-250 yards
Color A (White) about 65 yards
Color B (Lakeshore) about 30 yards
Color C (Red) about 30 yards
Solid hat shown in color Beaches (about 140 yards) with one extra pattern repeat worked for a slouchy look.

US# 5 & 7 needles
Gauge in stockinette- 21 stitches to 4 inches with US 7
Finished Dimensions- 22 inch circumference, 7 1/2 inches (8 1/2 inches with extra pattern repeat) from rib to top
