Who’s doing the dishes today
Free pattern released to celebrate the 3rd birthday of Cabana D’yarna, home of the Perfectly imperfect Twists.
This is a pretty quick project , especially when you want to practice a new stitch but you are very practical and don’t want to waste time or yarn.
This dishcloth uses the same 2#2 stitch you could find in my other designs - “I had a dream shawl” and “Same but different shawlette” and “Sweet dreams blanket”.
Gauge is approx 20st/26 rows = 10cm, firmer than the other designs and the wrong side looks pretty cool too, having a woven look or texture.
Final size is 20cm x 20cm but you can make it bigger if you want , just cast on extra stitches (multiple of 2).
To get the crisp edge I like to slip the first stitch (knitwise) and purl the last stitch.
You might need to steam block the finished object to bring into shape. If you have access to this brand of cotton - it’s beautiful and soft and will be very nice for face cloth too, I would just make it slightly bigger.
Enjoy!
