I really do like this ruana. It is very versatile and can be worn in several different ways -- crossed in the front, open in the front, or one front panel over the shoulder. It fits a lot like a rectangular poncho, except that it is open in the front. As you can see from the photos, it has a beautiful drape in the back.

Thank you for checking out my ruana.

This crochet pattern is listed as INTERMEDIATE. It uses standard US English crochet terminology. It has been tested for clarity and accuracy by a professional crochet designer. In addition, and as mentioned earlier, it contains step-by-step how-to photos. I am confident this pattern will make for a happy crochet experience (and a very nice ruana).

This ruana is basically one-size-fits-most, but I do provide a gauge for those wishing to achieve the same measurements. I also provide some guidelines for adjusting the size, should you wish to do so.

CONSTRUCTION OVERVIEW

This ruana is worked horizontally as one continuous piece using wrapped double crochet stitches. The “trim” is then crocheted vertically onto the ruana’s inside and outside edges utilizing chain spaces and single crochet stitches. Wrapped double crochet stitches are explained in detail (with photos), just in case you are not familiar with them.

I am available to answer questions, should you have any.
