Wickenden Hat
Construction: The Wickenden Hat combines a ribbed pattern with twisted stitches to create an all-over textured hat. Knit with DK weight wool this knitting pattern creates a hat that’s lighter weight yet warm, perfect for crisp fall mornings.

Skill level: Intermediate
Skills needed: knitting and purling in the round, twisting stitches, and decreasing by k2tog and CDD.
Size: Adult (one size)
Circumference: Stretches to fit up to 22” (18” unstretched, laid flat after blocking).
Height: 7 ½”
Gauge: 25 sts and 32 rows per 4” in body pattern of hat, after blocking.
Materials:

US 4 (3.5 mm) 16”circular and double-pointed needles; or size needed to obtain gauge

145 yards DK wool weight yarn. Sample shown in The Fiber Co. Acadia in Rosebay (50 g., 145 yards, 60% Merino wool, 20% baby alpaca, 20% silk).
