I was enjoying some lovely mother-daughter time, walking around the Byward Market in Ottawa on a cool late summer afternoon. Earlier that day I had mentioned to her that I was trying to find ideas to create my very own knitting pattern, but I assumed she wasn’t listening, lost in her own thoughts as she often is. Fast forward to our afternoon walk in the market, she suddenly stops in her tracks in front of one of the vendors, admiring the variety of beautiful flowers. She said to me “Mom, can you do a flower pattern on a tuque?”. Hmmm, she was listening after all…
