Wild Horses
Wild Horses came about because a student of mine loves kerchiefs and she was struggling to find a pattern she liked. And because I love Spincycle yarn – I had a new skein I was just itching to work.
So I thought about it and came up with this. I love the simple increase every row; it gives the edges a beautiful elasticity so that even with 2 increases every row right on the edge, the kerchief drapes well.
This pattern is easy for an advanced beginner. The stitch pattern changes keep it interesting and it knits up very quickly. You can easily make it longer by continuing to work the repeat a few more times.
It reminds me of something out of The Journey of Natty Gann or True Grit hence the name Wild Horses. I also live on the Outer Banks and we have wild horses in Corolla.
Please let me know if you find any errors.
I love Spincycle!!
