Wild Oak
Wild Oak is a garter stitch tank, knit flat, from the bottom up. The front is composed of a charted tree design. Long floats are embraced and used as a design element. Knitters are encouraged to get creative in deciding whether to carry floats on the right side, wrong side or combination of the two. This variable leads to endless variety and a truly unique garment. The back of the tank is composed of random stripes, also an opportunity to customize your creation. Once front and back pieces are completed, shoulders are seamed using the three-needle bind off and sides are seamed to the armholes. Neckline and armhole stitches are picked up and a small stockinette edging is applied.
This tank is meant to be fitted and styled over a long sleeve shirt. Waist shaping is included but can easily be omitted for a boxier fit.
